The knowledge of classical mechanics is vital for understanding advanced technologies in several areas such as automation, industrial process control, and aerospace. The present text is an outcome of the author's long experience in teaching this subject to postgraduate students and his work as a scientist in the area of satellite/rocket motion at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre.
