Rick Warren & the Modern Church: Purpose Driven Disaster by Armin Hammer

This book, Purpose Driven Disaster, is a Scriptural critique of the faulty theology of Rick Warren, as encountered in his book, The Purpose Driven Life. It is also a corrective to the pseudo-Biblical perspectives of many in the modern church. The topics dealt with in Purpose Driven Disaster are quite varied, but all very important to the well-being and spiritual health of Christians and the Church. The book shows from Scripture why Rick Warren is wrong in teaching the following theories: False theory 1: How a parent lives his life will have no effect upon the child he or she bears. False theory 2: God's love is unconditional. False theory 3: Resentment and anger are always wrong and unhelpful. False theory 4: Fear is always bad. False theory 5: Striving for material gain is always wrong. False theory 6: Christians should tell others about their faith even when others do not want to hear about it. False theory 7: Baptism is unnecessary. False theory 8: Christians should strive to pray to, and think about, God continually. False theory 9: No human effort is required for salvation. False theory 10: The more a Christian attends church, the more spiritual they become. False theory 11: An individual should confess all his sins to as many Christians as possible. False theory 12: God no longer wants to be feared, even though New Testament passages say that we should fear God. False theory 13: God's nature changed and so did God's views of right and wrong when Jesus came to earth. These false theories are shown to be Rick Warren's teachings through direct quotes from his writings, and they are disproven through application of Scriptural passages.
